There’s nothing that resembles Colombian coffee that’s been roasted in Colombia, a few days after it has left the farm. Why so? Well it’s easy to forget that coffee is indeed a fruit, and like any other fruit it’s best to have it when its fresh, otherwise it over ripens and perishes.

No one has ever dared to speak about this, but here we are saying it: you can’t talk about fresh coffee unless you use fresh green beans. Yes, coffee in its green state has an expiration date because just like any other organic product it is vulnerable to microorganisms, and it’s sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. The sooner you roast your green beans, the more flavors you’ll have in your cup.

Some may ask, what about the freshness of roasted coffee? Our answer is: Worry not, everything is under control. It’s all a matter of packaging. Many years ago, scientists at illy research center, developed a packaging system where by introducing a nitrogen flush into the packaging, the product remains intact, there is no oxidation and thus the coffee doesn’t lose its quality.

TRANSPARENCY

Amor Perfecto uses 100% specialty Colombian, single origin, arábiga coffee. The short distance between the farm and the roasting facilities, allow us to keep a very close eye throughout the process, making sure that the product remains unspoilt. More importantly, every single one of our batches is carefully analyzed by the FNC both at its green and roasted state in order to certify our product as 100% Colombian.

TRACEABILITY

Amor Perfecto has always considered it imperative to follow a responsible production process which allows for maximum accountability.  For us that means presenting customers with coffee that is entirely traceable. Our chain of production is based on a farm to cup axiom. Our products contain QR codes that show consumers the entire process of the product, the people behind it and the places it has been before reaching their hands, and its backed up with blockchain technology to certify every one of the steps in the value chain.

SUSTAINABILITY

Amor Perfecto helps provide a sustainable economy for Colombian coffee growers. We generate direct employment and by cutting out the middleman, we ensure that our growers are paid competitive prices. We currently pay coffee growers double the market rate. We know that the human factor plays a major role in the quality of our coffee which is why we work hard to keep those human players in the production chain happy and healthy.
